Mikano is home sick the day the earthquake hits Port au Prince, in Haiti. Mikano and his family live in a small town on the outskirts of Port au Prince.

His mother and father are at work and his brothers and sisters are at school as the earthquake strikes its worst tremor.

Mikano jumps out of his bed, rushes outside and stands in the courtyard outside of his home; he watches as the houses in his town tumble and fall to the ground. He stands motionless all that is left are piles of rubble and dust.

With all he has witnessed, he is unable to speak, after many hours of standing he moves his legs and walks and walks until he cannot walk anymore.

He seeks refuge under the marble of the altar in the rubble of a church, where he eventually sleeps.

After he wakes, he continues to walk through the debris and rubble of Port au Prince, Mikano sees many things happening but continues to walk. Eventually he meets three street children who befriend him. The four form a bond that is heart warming and moving.

The story includes Will Jones and his journey to the Planet of Spectron and highlights how the people on far away planets play an essential role in bringing together the people it will take to build a school for the Children of Haiti.
